Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
- In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
Baking
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Cupcakes can be served plain or with buttercream frosting. For a twist, add 1/3 cup of cocoa powder for chocolate flavor or incorporate fresh fruit.
