Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces chicken (legs or breasts)
  • 1 cup buttermilk Marinate the chicken in this for added flavor.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Used for coating the chicken.
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • as needed Cooking spray For extra crispiness.

Method
 

Marination
  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Preparing the Coating
  1. In a bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  2. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  3. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  4. Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, checking for golden brown and cooked-through chicken.
Serving
  1. Serve your KFC-style chicken with favorite sides like mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and cornbread, along with dipping sauces.

Notes

For better flavor, consider adding spices to the buttermilk marinade. Ensure the chicken pieces are not overcrowded for even cooking. For extra crunch, double-dip the chicken.
