  • 1 package puff pastry Thawed properly for pliability
  • 1 cup diced ham Can use pre-cooked or deli ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Any cheese of your choice, such as mozzarella or pepper jack
  • 1 egg for egg wash Beaten for brushing the tops

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix the diced ham and shredded cheese together.
  4. Place a spoonful of the ham and cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the pastry over and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden color.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are puffed up and golden brown.

Notes

Can be served warm as an appetizer or snack. Pair with salad or dipping sauces like mustard or ranch. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
