Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
- Place a slice of ham and a sprinkle of grated cheese on one half of each square.
- Optionally, add a small amount of Dijon mustard or mayonnaise and sprinkle with black pepper.
- Fold the other half of the pastry over to create a pocket and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
These pockets can be served warm or at room temperature. They pair well with a fresh salad or vegetable sticks. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze them for longer storage.
