Ingredients

Chicken Marinade
  • 4 pieces pieces of chicken (legs, thighs, or breasts) Use your preferred cuts of chicken.
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating the chicken.
Breading Mixture
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For dredging the chicken.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
Frying
  • Vegetable oil Enough for frying, about 1 inch deep.

Method

Preparation
  1. Marinate the chicken by placing it in a bowl and pouring the buttermilk over it. Let it soak for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. In another bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Take the marinated chicken out of the fridge and dredge each chicken piece in the seasoned flour until well coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil. Fry each piece for about 10-15 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Once done, remove the chicken and place it on paper towels to drain the excess oil.

Notes

Let the chicken rest on paper towels after frying to keep it crispy. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
