Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour All-purpose flour is preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Melted.
  • 7 grams baker’s yeast Active dry yeast can also be used.
  • 5 tablespoons sugar Granulated sugar.
  • 1 cup milk Warm, but not hot.
  • 1 large egg Room temperature.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut into doughnut shapes.
  7. Let the doughnuts rise for another 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Fry doughnuts until golden brown on both sides.
  2. Drain on paper towels and enjoy!

Notes

Serve doughnuts warm or at room temperature. Best eaten within a day or two. To store, place in an airtight container. Can be frozen for longer storage.
