Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Use very cold for a flakier crust.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 to 5 tablespoons cold water
For the filling
  • 2 cups fruit filling (like apples, cherries, or blueberries) Customizable based on preferences.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) Adds flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in enough cold water until the dough comes together.
  4. Roll out the dough and place it in a pie pan.
Filling
  1. In another bowl, mix the fruit filling with lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon.
  2. Pour the filling into the pie crust.
Baking
  1. Cover with a top crust, seal the edges, and cut slits for steam to escape.
  2. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  3. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

You can serve the pie warm or at room temperature. It pairs wonderfully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Leftover pie can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen after cooling completely.
