Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Gradually stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Serving
- Once completely cool, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.

Serve at room temperature. For added indulgence, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. To store, cover tightly and keep in a cool place for up to three days, refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing, and consider adding chocolate chips to the batter.
