Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water until the batter is well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
Making Brigadeiro
- In a saucepan, combine condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan (about 10 minutes).
- Allow brigadeiro to cool slightly.
Assembly
- Spread brigadeiro over the cooled cake layers and on top.
- Top with chocolate sprinkles before serving.
Notes
For richer flavor, pair the cake with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
