Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Mix of cheeses can enhance flavor.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg Room temperature for best results.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheese until well mixed.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Cheese bread is best served warm. It can be sliced and enjoyed alone or paired with soups, salads, or pasta. Leftover bread can be stored wrapped tightly at room temperature or in the refrigerator. It can also be frozen.
