Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Place one pie crust in a pie dish and fill it with the apple mixture. Dot with butter.
- Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
Baking
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
For added creaminess, serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. To store, cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Can last up to two days at room temperature, or longer in the refrigerator.
