Savory Sausage-Stuffed Croissants Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 250g (½ lb) ground sausage (or minced meat of choice)
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1 egg yolk (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the filling: In a pan, cook the sausage (or minced meat) with chopped onion and garlic until browned. Season with pepper, paprika, and parsley. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Mix in the shredded cheese.
- Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into triangles.
- Fill and roll: Place a spoonful of the filling at the base of each triangle and roll it up into a croissant shape.
- Egg wash: Mix the egg yolk with milk and brush it over the croissants for a golden crust.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
