Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4-6 slices of ham (thinly sliced)
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or gruyère)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or grated parmesan (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into two equal halves.
  3. Add Fillings: Lay ham slices on one half of the pastry. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the ham.
  4. Seal and Cut: Place the second half of the pastry over the ham and cheese. Press lightly to seal. Cut into strips (1-inch wide).
  5. Twist the Sticks: Twist each strip gently and place it on the baking sheet.
  6. Egg Wash & Toppings: Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds or parmesan.
  7. Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve: Let cool slightly and enjoy warm!
