Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 200g sliced ham
  • 100g cream cheese or béchamel sauce
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the batter: In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix until smooth. Stir in the shredded cheese.
  3. Spread & bake: Pour the batter evenly onto the lined baking sheet and spread it thinly. Bake for about 15 minutes until slightly firm but not golden.
  4. Fill the roll: Remove from the oven and spread the cream cheese or béchamel sauce over the baked base. Layer the ham slices evenly on top.
  5. Roll it up: Carefully roll the sheet into a log while it's still warm. Transfer it back onto the baking sheet.
  6. Final bake: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve: Let it cool slightly, then slice and enjoy warm!
