Cheesy Potato Patties

 








Here's a simple recipe for cheesy potato patties:

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes (peeled and boiled)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your preferred cheese)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions or parsley
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them with a fork or potato masher. Let them cool slightly.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions or parsley, egg, garlic powder (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Form the Patties: Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into small round patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Fry the Patties: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the patties in batches, cooking them for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Drain and Serve: Remove the patties from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauces or as a side dish.
