Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven – Set to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Beef – In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until beef is browned. Drain excess grease. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Prepare Sauce – In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk.
- Layer the Casserole – In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish:
- Layer half the sliced potatoes.
- Spread half of the beef mixture on top.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over it.
- Repeat the layers.
- Bake – Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Add Cheese – Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes until potatoes are tender.
