Easy Alabama Firecracker Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 box (16 oz) saltine crackers (about 4 sleeves)
- 1 ½ cups canola oil
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix
- 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Prepare the Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix the canola oil, ranch dressing mix, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Coat the Crackers: Place the saltine crackers in a large resealable bag or airtight container. Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers.
- Mix Well: Seal the bag and gently toss or shake to evenly coat the crackers with the seasoning. Let them sit for at least 4 hours (or overnight) for best flavor absorption.
- Bake (Optional): For extra crispiness, arrange the crackers on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 15 minutes. Let them cool completely.
- Serve & Enjoy: Store in an airtight container and enjoy as a snack or with dips!
