Classic Homemade Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups (310ml) milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract.

  3. Combine: Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Don’t overmix—lumps are okay!

  4. Heat the Pan: Preheat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.

  5. Cook the Pancakes: Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set (about 2-3 minutes). Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  6. Serve: Stack the pancakes and serve warm with butter, maple syrup, honey, fresh fruit, or any topping you like!
