Recipe for Cinnamon Swirl Apple Fritter Bread

Ingredients

For the Apple Mixture:
  • 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, and diced)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
For the Cinnamon Swirl:
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
For the Bread Batter:
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
For the Glaze:
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Apples

    • In a bowl, toss the diced apples with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Make the Cinnamon Swirl

    • In a separate small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Make the Batter

    • In a large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
    • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
  5. Assemble the Bread

    • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    • Add half of the apple mixture and sprinkle with half of the cinnamon swirl mixture.
    • Pour the remaining batter on top, followed by the rest of the apples and cinnamon swirl.
    • Use a knife to gently swirl the layers together.
  6. Bake

    • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
    • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  7. Make the Glaze & Drizzle

    • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Drizzle over the slightly warm bread.
  8. Enjoy!

    • Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
