cheesy potato and ground beef

 








Here’s a simple cheesy potato and ground beef casserole recipe similar to the one in the image!

Ingredients:

  • 500g ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup frozen or canned corn (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 can (300ml) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil for cooking
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook the beef: In a pan over medium heat, add butter or oil. Sauté onions and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
  4. Assemble the casserole:
    • Spread half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
    • Add half of the ground beef mixture.
    • Sprinkle some corn (if using).
    • Pour half of the soup mixture over the layers.
    • Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, corn, and sauce.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
  6. Add cheese: Remove from the oven, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
