No-Oven 10-Minute Cake – The Best Cake Ever!

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (100g) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder (optional for a chocolate version)

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup (100g) chocolate (dark/milk)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) warm milk
  • 1 tbsp butter (for extra shine)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Cake Batter

  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Add milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
  • If making a chocolate cake, mix in 1 tbsp cocoa powder.

2. Cook Without an Oven

Option 1: Stove Method

  • Grease a non-stick pan with oil or butter.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and cover with a lid.
  • Cook on low heat for 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Option 2: Steaming Method

  • Pour the batter into a greased heatproof bowl.
  • Place in a steaming pot and cover with a lid.
  • Steam for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.

3. Prepare the Chocolate Topping

  • Melt chocolate, warm milk, and butter together.
  • Stir until smooth.

4. Assemble

  • Pour the melted chocolate over the cake.
  • Let it set for a few minutes before slicing.

5. Enjoy!
