No-Oven 10-Minute Cake – The Best Cake Ever!
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (100g) sugar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder (optional for a chocolate version)
For the Topping:
- 1/2 cup (100g) chocolate (dark/milk)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) warm milk
- 1 tbsp butter (for extra shine)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cake Batter
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Add milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
- If making a chocolate cake, mix in 1 tbsp cocoa powder.
2. Cook Without an Oven
Option 1: Stove Method
- Grease a non-stick pan with oil or butter.
- Pour the batter into the pan and cover with a lid.
- Cook on low heat for 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Option 2: Steaming Method
- Pour the batter into a greased heatproof bowl.
- Place in a steaming pot and cover with a lid.
- Steam for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
3. Prepare the Chocolate Topping
- Melt chocolate, warm milk, and butter together.
- Stir until smooth.
4. Assemble
- Pour the melted chocolate over the cake.
- Let it set for a few minutes before slicing.
