Cabbage and Ground Beef Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 1 small cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Cook the ground beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Sauté onions and garlic: Add chopped onions and garlic to the beef. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add cabbage: Stir in chopped cabbage and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add tomatoes and seasoning: Pour in diced tomatoes with their juices, then add paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
  5. Simmer: Cover and let it cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  6. Serve: Enjoy hot, either on its own or with rice, bread, or mashed potatoes.
