Perfect Baked Potato Recipe

A crispy, salty skin with a fluffy, buttery inside—this is the ultimate way to bake a potato!


Ingredients:

✔️ 4 large russet potatoes (best for baking)
✔️ 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
✔️ 1 tablespoon coarse salt
✔️ ½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:

    • Set to 425°F (220°C) for the crispiest skin.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes:

    • Scrub the potatoes clean and dry them thoroughly.
    • Pierce each potato a few times with a fork (this prevents bursting).
  3. Season:

    • Rub the potatoes with olive oil or melted butter.
    • Sprinkle generously with coarse salt and a little pepper.
  4. Bake:

    • Place directly on the oven rack for extra crispy skin (or use a baking sheet).
    • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a fork slides in easily.
  5. Serve Hot:

    • Slice open and fluff the inside with a fork.
    • Add butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon, or chives!

Tips for the Best Baked Potato
