Cheesy Quick Bread
A savory, cheesy, and buttery quick bread that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or as a side to any meal. It's easy to make and requires no yeast, so you can have fresh, warm bread in under an hour!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional for extra flavor)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (optional, like chives or parsley)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix the Dry Ingredients – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- Add the Cheese – Stir in the shredded cheese and any fresh herbs you’re using, making sure it's evenly distributed throughout the dry ingredients.
- Combine the Wet Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients – Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. The batter will be thick.
- Bake – Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve – Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
This cheesy bread is great warm, especially with a little butter or for dipping in soup! You can also mix in extras like cooked bacon, jalapeños, or sundried tomatoes for added flavor. Would you like to try a variation of it, like adding spices or a different cheese?
